JACK ROSE “Dr ragtime and his pals+
self titled” 2 x CD tequila sunrise
Double CD release from my good pal Tony
features a brand new disc from Philly’s finest Mr Rose at
work in a series of duets with folks like Glenn Jones,
Harmonica Dan, Micah Blue Smaldone and others. Also comes with
a re-issue pressing of the self titled archive CD that has been
sold out for some time. This is the US pressing of 500 copies
and comes in a large fold out sleeve with glued inner pockets
not to be confused with the UK edition.

CORNUCOPIA “.C. Works” 2 X CD
zero moon
2004 nicely priced double CD from Puerto
Rico’s Cornucopia disc one is a long playing drone track
that builds up then dissolves into vapors. Disc two is fourteen
small tracks all re-mixes from artists like Lasse Marhaug,
Ultra Milkmaids, Kim Cascone, and Francisco Lopez.

OTOMO YOSHIIHIDE “modulation with 2
electric guitars and 2 amplifiers” CD doubt music
Auditory experiment of a release from
Otomo. As the name implies stereo recording of two totally
separate guitar set-ups recorded in stereo played
simultaneously. Recorded live in May of 2007 in Hiroshima. LAST COPY

LSD MARCH “constellation of
tragedy” CD important
A handful of quiet somber songs played
mostly solo by Shinsuke. Most of the disc delves into areas
more familiar to the ultra intimate moments from Empty Rubiuos
Red in style but at types the rock and the fuzz does kick in
briefly. I remember Shinsuke told me on his last visit this CD
was inspired by his first stay in Philadelphia. No lyrics, And
all Japanese titles for the songs leave me no hints of any of
that but what the hell if my dirty city inspired this highly
excellent release we’ll take it.

Cumulative CD release documenting a
variety of material from UK band Marzuraan from the past five
years. Great release to catch you up on the bands output since
much of the content is from small run releases. Comes packed in

label throne records. I’m fairly fussy these days when it
comes to doom bands but Monarch along with other rare current
groups get a passing grade. File along with things like Bunkur
and Moss

Polish import disc of Canadian band this
quiet army. Long playing CD of drawn out orchestrated
instrumental ambient rock. Not unlike material from Godspeed
your black emperor of some of the more ambient moments from
bands like Nadja or Neurosis. Very excellent release.
